John Mahoney:        
Coordinator of Jazz Studies at Loyola, professional pianist, trombonist and composer/arranger, BME
from SUNY at Potsdam, MM in Jazz Studies from the Eastman School of Music.  Leads the John
Mahoney Big Band and publishes with Walrus Music.

Tony Dagradi:        
Associate professor of Saxophone at Loyola, he co-leads the band Astral Project, which has made five
CDs including VooDooBop and Elevado on Compass.  Tony has a BM from Loyola and a MFA from
Tulane University.  He has also worked with Bobby McFerrin and Dr. John.

Brian Prunka:
Graduated from the Loyola College of Music with a degree in Jazz Studies and received his Masters from
UNO.  After moving to New York in 2003, Prunka joined the Arabic/jazz fusion group of violin & oud
virtuoso Simon Shaheen, and toured in the U.S. and middle east.

Jamil Sharif:       
Trumpet instructor for the Camp, currently leads a jazz quintet at Maison Bourbon in New Orleans five
nights per week.  He is a versatile freelance musician, as well.

Larry Sieberth:        
Piano instructor at Loyola, is an accomplished jazz pianist, composer and arranger. An active freelance
musician, he is one of the most called upon pianists in New Orleans.

Jesse Boyd:        
Bass instructor at Loyola.  His BM degree is from Loyola University, New Orleans, and his MM is from
University of New Orleans.  Has studied extensively with Bill Huntington, and currently performs nearly
500 engagements per year.

Wayne Maureau:
Instructor of Drums at Loyola, one of the most “in demand” drummers in town, covering a wide variety
of gigs from Jazz and Blues, to Latin, R&B, and Rock.  He graduated from Louisiana State University
and studied further at Drummers Collective in New York City.


                                                          
ELIGIBILITY:          

Non-beginners who have completed the 7th through 12th grades who play trumpet, trombone, alto,
tenor, or baritone saxes, piano, bass, guitar, or drum set

COSTS:    Tuition -                  $200.00
             Room & Board        $415.00 (Must be a minimum of 14 years of age to stay in Dorm)

In an effort to achieve a balanced instrumentation for the camp, we will limit the number of each
instrument accepted. Applications with deposits will be taken in order of receipt until each limit is
reached.  Those we are unable to accommodate will be returned promptly.  Send yours early to insure
